We must build sufficient understanding in fellow citizens about our incredible form of government before they will understand the threats now facing it, why it is so important to help preserve it, and what they can do to help. The excellent video "Overview of America" produced by the John Birch Society and available on their website is an invaluable tool in educating our fellow citizens.
It has been suggested that we give copies of this DVD to all middle, junior, and high school social studies/history teachers with the encouragement that they show this to their students on "Constitution Day", September 17th. Apparently and new federal law mandates that all publicly funded educational institutions provide programming about the U.S. Constitution on "Constitution Day," September 17th. I will distribute copies of the DVD to teachers here in Evanston. What can you do in your part of the state? |

Work on this project is progressing here in Evanston. How are things in your part of the state?
Do you know that you can view Overview of America on You Tube? Here is the website http://www.youtube.co... A group working on this same project in Arizona sent an email to social studies teachers inviting them to view Overview of America on You Tube, then if they wanted a copy to show in their classroom they could request one from the group. Over 200 teachers responded and requested a DVD. I think that would be a great way for us to reach teachers in Wyoming, effective and economical. Does anyone know how to find the email addresses? |

A group of families here in Evanston are planning to celebrate Constitution Day by distributing copies of The Constitution of the United States of America, setting up a display at the local library, and hosting a Constitution Bowl Saturday, September 20th at the Uinta County Library.
In Provo, Utah a big celebration is in the works for September 17, 7-9:30 p.m. at the Provo Tabernacle with speakers from various organizations including Stephen Pratt-Constitutionalist, Bliss Tew-JBS, Sherriff Richard Mack-Graham County AZ, Jim Noorlander 3rd Congressional District Candidate, David Perry-House of Rep. Dist. #45 Candidate, Fred Willoughby-President Proper Role of Government. Have you heard of any planned celebrations in other parts of Wyoming? If so let us know so we can spread the word and support them. |

Obviously we need to do more here in Evanston as my neice who is a Junior at the high school had a question on a test recently. It was a multiple choice question. It asked what form of government the US is. She of course chose Republic. Her answer was marked wrong because the teacher said that US is a democracy. I plan to send/deliver copies of the reprint "Republics and Democracies" to the social studies teachers.
