The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009, passed the House and went to the Senate as S.909. It would result in federal control over all law enforcement. It attempts to categorize crime according to the “motivations” of the perpetrator, a next-to-impossible task. It might as well be named the "Thought Crimes Bill."
