Here's an e-mail from Congressman Chris Cannon to me about developing oil shale in America:
Dear Bliss, Today, Congessman Cannon appeared on the Fox Business network to discuss legislation he has introduced to expedite the process for developing oil on Federal lands. To watch, click here. To view a video in which Chris discusses gas prices, click here: http://blip.tv/file/9... The legislation Chris introduced this week would allow the President to bypass burdensome regulation and authorize the immediate permitting of oil shale development. Currently, obtaining permits requires companies to obtain 40 or more permits, from multiple agencies, spanning over 7 years. This legislation would cut the red tape, start using proven extraction methods now, lower the price of oil, and send a message to OPEC that America will not sit idly by. U.S. Senator Robert F. Bennett, written on August 18, 2008, to The John Birch Society Chapter Leader in Salem, Utah, has informed us that his is the cosponsor of S.334, The Healthy Americans Act, sponsored by a Democrat, Senator Ron Wyden. Read the text of the Act at:
http://thomas.loc.gov... The act includes a "mandatory healthcare provision." All Americans are forced by government to enroll. If they fail to enroll, the federal government will enroll them by force in a plan. "Basic premium payments would become part of an individual's tax liability," wrote Senator Bennett! "Low-income beneficiaries would qualify for premium assistance from the government," writes Senator Bennett. In other words wealth redistribution is part of the plan, to confiscate from some, through government expropriation, to give to others an unearned benefit via a wealth transfer. Socialism! to contact Senator Bennett: Phone: (202) 224-5444 U.S. Senator Robert F. Bennett Wallace Bennett Federal Building 125 South State, Suite 4225 Salt Lake City, UT 84138-1188 Let's ask him about the consequences of federal intrusion into the private health insurance market. Where in the Constitution is the federal government mandated to intrude into private health concerns or insurance concerns of American citizens or American employers? Edited by Bliss W.
