Pelosi, Waxman, Markey, and hundreds of other Congressmen are pushing for the Cap and Trade bill. The Senate has it now. We'll talk about what you can do to help prevent passage of H.R. 2454, or S. 1733. Bliss Tew will present information regarding the Waxman-Markey bill, H.R. 2454, The American Clean Energy and Security Act. This 1,428-page bill has passed the U.S. House of Representatives. It assumes that anthopogenic global warming (man-caused global warming) will destroy our climate, melt our ice caps, and cause catastrophe, and thus Americans must reduce their energy consumption to prevent introduction of carbon-dioxide into our atmosphere, a Green House Gas (GHS). Bliss will discuss the costs of this bill to Utahans, the features of how this bill works to tax Americans, the focus we must have to defeat the bill. I'll try to have some reprints there as well for hand outs. Bliss will also briefly discuss the UN Framework on Climate Change Convention and the UN Copenhagen meeting coming up on December 7th. (It's an energy Pearl Harbor). With the recent exposure of e-mails by CRU scientists who have lied about their data, the UN Convention can be derailed in its objectives if we all take time to post the article below on FACEBOOK, on MYSPACE, on TWITTER, and other social networks. This scandal is being called "CLIMATEGATE." Here's the latest information on global warming data fraud by scientists: http://www.thenewame rican.com/index.php/ tech-mainmenu-30/env ironment/2383-climat egate-e-mail-scandal -could-melt-copenhag en-plans

A friend, Mr. D. J. Schanz has personaly rented the Tower Theater to show a new movie, "For Liberty: How Ron Paul Watered the withered tree of liberty." The movie depicts the way that a diverse set of people from across America came together during the Ron Paul for President campaign to work together. As meetup members we can all learn from this example of how Internet social networking moved a movement into high-gear. Mr. Schanz has given permission to JBS members and members of this JBS Freedom Campaign Meetup to distribute such things as JBS DVDs such as "Dollars & Sense," or JBS reprinted articles from The New American magazine that pertain to related subjects such as the Federal Reserve System, hyperinflation, or the Wiemar Republic's hyperinflation. Good place to meet new friends who want to see the end of The Federal Reserve System and a return to sound Constitutional money. Feel free to bring a friend or two as there is plenty of room. I'm hoping to be there with a small supply of CFR reprints myself to distribute to others. He's asked that people who attend consider donating $3 or $4 to help him defray the cost of the theater rental if possible.

This will be the first of our Creature from Jekyll Island Book Discussion Meetings. Come join and discuss the first Section(Chapters 1-6) of "Creature from Jekyll Island" Refreshments will be provided Where does money come from? Where does it go? Who makes it? The money magician's secrets are unveiled. Here is a close look at their mirrors and smoke machines, the pulleys, cogs, and wheels that create the grand illusion called money. A boring subject? Just wait. You'll be hooked in five minutes. It reads like a detective story – which it really is, but it's all true. This book is about the most blatant scam of history. It's all here: the cause of wars, boom-bust cycles, inflation, depression, prosperity. Your world view will definitely change. Putting it quite simply, this may be the most important book on world affairs you will ever read. 608 pages. call Jennifer Doud for more information at 801-375-1964. 1090 West 820 North, Provo UT 84601.

Since 9/11 the face of terrorism has been mostly Islamic as presented by the mainstream media and politicians. But Islam is only one part of the terror triangle, and NOT the most important part. The John Birch Society's Chief Executive Officer, Arthur R. Thompson, brought to Salt Lake City to speak by the JBS Salt Lake City Speakers Bureau Committee for this event, will reveal and document the players who , back, boost, and drive terrorism and will explain how America is focusing on the wrong enemy. Find out constitutional solutions to the problem of terror. Learn the vital role you play in making sure we are not trading our liberty for temporary security. Local Speakers Bureau Committee Chairman Robin Smith will have tickets available for this event. He works nights, so please, don't phone him until later in the afternoon so he can get his sleep. His number is: 801- 497-0618. John Birch Society Chapter Leaders across Utah will also soon have tickets ($5.00) for the event. The event will be at the Salt Lake City Airport Hilton Hotel as it is a fairly central location to Utah County, Salt Lake County, Davis County, Weber County, etc. We invite law-enforcement officers and legislators to attend to learn how they are targeted by terrorists and why.

This Commemoration of Constitution Day will be held at the Logan Tabernacle buidling at 50 North Main Street, Logan, Utah. Michael Ballam will be the guest speaker. There will also be a costumed play and music by a choir. It's a real opportunity to celebrate the 1787 creation of the Constitution that has brought us freedom and prosperity in these United States, to meet other like-minded citizens, to enjoy the spirit of freedom, and to bring with you educational materials to share with others gathered there. At the website http://www.shopjbs.o rg/index.php/tna/rep rints.html can be found inexpensive reprinted articles to distribute to attendees to bring them better understanding on a number of issues. Especially the reprinted article about The Council on Foreign Relations would be a good one to purchase and bring to distribute. Also, the flier for our upcoming October 9 speakers bureau event in Salt Lake City at the Airport Hilton Hotel can be distributed to help bring people to hear JBS CEO Art Thompson speak on "Exposing Terrorism." This event is sponsored by the local tea party, JBS Chapters, the Constitution Party, and the 9/12 group in Logan and other groups.

We will have tickets to the upcoming Art Thompson speech "Exposing Terrorism". We are asking JBS members and Chapter Leaders to come pickup tickets and help plan distribution. We have received 400+ New American reprints "TERRORIST TARGETING OF POLICE". We need volunteers who will help deliver the reprint with a letter to local Police Chiefs and Sheriff Departments and invite them to the upcoming speech.
